July Lost and Found Poems

          These poems are both nonsense limericks. The first is from Edward Lear’s A Book of Nonsense - a collection of 112 of his favourite limericks and the second is a parody of the first. Their relation to my theme is fairly self-explanatory and I chose them as the July poems because it is the month containing Cow Appreciation Day (July 15th)! Neither contains any poetic devices.

As for subject matter: two men, two cow, enough said.
Untitled Limerick
There was an Old Man of Aôsta,
Who possessed a large cow, but he lost her;
But they said, 'Don't you see
She has rushed up a tree?
You invidious Old Man of Aôsta!'
-      Edward Lear
Found Limerick
There was a Young Man of Seattle,
Who found a large number of cattle.
He fell for one so
He could not let her go,
That crazy Young Man of Seattle.
